did you park in front of the bbq on the bluff? that spot is indeed "reserved'.

Yeah, I never liked the vibe that the local surfers give out when you park in "their" parking lot. Even the kayak surfers and SUP guys are "not allowed" to surf the South side of the cove because it "belongs" to the surfers  :smt011

I once paddled out past a pack of surfers and was yelled at "Go Home Kayak Surfer"....the idiot must have been blind cause I was in a 15 foot kayak that had multiple fishing rods sticking out of it and a gigantic net to go along with it  :smt011

Anyway, Davenport has been good to me in the past. It's been a good Halibut spot for me but I'd rather go to MBK cause I've had the heebe-gee-bee feeling fishing out of Davenport...and I still do.

Guys in kayaks will always be 'targets' to be taunted & victimized by the real surfer he-men OTW. That is until they.....
1# See your fish catches of the day.
2# See your 60+ lb kayak barreling down on their -10 lb fragile surfboard.
3# Be told to watch out for the "multiple lines out with large sharp hooks".  :smt003
That worked out pretty good for Sharky one day in Pacifica. Those surfers got out of the way pretty fast.  :smt044

Even on a seemingly calmer day the ocean can get rough out there and if your not prepared and up to date on the swell reports it can be a rough ride.  I will admit that I like fishing Davenport but only on those rare days when the swell and wind are really down, but even then I wouldn't fish there after noon.  The white caps are relentless that time of day.  The two pictures down below were taken on the same day.  It seems so flat and peaceful on the beach but out there a ways well, you can see the choppy swell rolling by.
