What's next.......flare kayakfishing I don't know if it'll have any impact on surfing in general but its gonna take surf photography into a whole new realm.  Dave Nelson uses alot of colored strobes in his shots and the lighting ranges from badass to unreal.....I can see him taking this and running with it.

How were these guys able to do this without burning their feet? Cool effects though!

That is SWEET! Check this video of a kayaker barely making it over a 20 foot wave a few days ago in New Port beach on this last south swell.
