Miller park at Nicks cove (google maps nicks cove tomales) is an established ramp with a fee of $5-6 I think, directly west from there is Hog Is, most yak fishing for halis is on the west side of the island, there's a channel just to the west of the island, then some flats then another deeper channel closer to the west side of the bay.   seems like most people try to drift the channels from say a mile above to a mile below the Is.

Also I'd check the Lawsons Landing website, seems the best hali fishing in that area is outside the bay on the "bar" and there have been some reports of halis just inside the bay up by Lawsons, maybe give'em a call,
I'm not sure if a yak can access the bar except maybe in the most ideal tide condition as the outflow from the bay is really strong right there.

I don't believe there's any launching between Miller park and Lawsons, lots of places along the bay to launch to the south of Miller park but if you're hali fishing most of it's done around Hog Is, although in past years people have done well as far down the bay as Marshall, but I haven't heard that this year.

I've been drafted for my Dad's doctor's appt or I'd be there, thursday wind forecast looks good.

Good Luck and I'll be looking forward to your report.

Can you launch out of Nick's in the late afternoon and fish into the evening or do they close the ramp?

Or alternatively, is there any decent fishing from shore in the evening?  I am getting ready to head back down (over really) that way for work during the week and may try to get some fishing in at night...

I'm pretty sure the launch is open 24/7, but no nite time parking is allowed in the lot, however there is plenty of parking in the area, right outside the gate.  This launch is used by people camping on Pt Reyes beaches across the bay from the ramp and I believe there's parking for that on the hill just outside the launch parking lot.
