Called in sick yesterday and went to Mc Alpine lake in San Juan Bautista.... Its A stocked little lake with some big fish in it.. Its A pay by the pound thing and cost twenty bucks to fish for up to four pounds the five dollars therefor after.. I just wanted to take my buddie somewhere to fish and actually catch em... So I did... Caught A 1-1/2 pond trout and lots of little blugill... Thet made it to my fryer... Mmmm Good. :smt006

Haven't caught panfish for a looong time. Used to love fishing for them with a little handline back when I was about 10 , they pull hard for their size.

pound for pound probably the hardest fight fish out there.  Can you imagine what a 50 pound bluegill would fight like?

You should try blue gill and crappie on a fly rod. It will keep you entertained all day.
