A few weeks ago, i tried to reserve a campsite in Yosemite (was online @ 7am) but still didn't get it.

I did some research online, and narrowed it down to Summerdale or Pine Mountain Lake Campground.

If you have recommendations for a campsite near Yosemite, please let me know.

I will be camping with my 2 kids (11 & 14) and wife.  We are fine with tent camping, which is the only kind of camping we've done.  so long as it has water, firepit, toilets and a shower, we are good.

thx in advance.

I have not stayed here in many years, but I use to have fun at http://stayatyosemite.com/ with my grandparents. I believe non-members are able to camp too.

About 3-4 years ago we stayed at KOA near Mariposa.  The place was clean very nice overall, about $45 a night over the 4th of July.  Only drawback, they have a small mudhole of a pond for fishing.  It has the loudest bull frogs I have ever heard, they will kepp you up half the night if you are too close to the water.  My advise, if you are a AAA member go to the nearest one and get the map for Camping in Northern California.  It lists every campground on it, that same weekend we also stayed at a campground north of Yosemite in the Town of Markleeville off of Hwy 89, Indian Springs Resivoir,  it was run by the BLM (Carson NV BLM ran it, you won't find it listed in CA, even though it is in CA). We got there at 4pm on the 4th of July, and we got a camping spot choice of next to the parking lot or next to the lake.  We chose the parking lot as we were on our motorcycles and like to be close to them if possible.  Cost of a Tent Site $14.00.  I know there is a lot of BLM property around Yosemite.
