I have recently acquired a sit on top Kayak rigged for fishing. I have limited experience paddling but vast experience fishing the Bay and Coast. I live on the Peninsula and wish to fish from Monterey to Bodega and the Bay as well. I fish; Salmon, Ling, Cabs, Halibut, Bass,WSB and Sturgeon, having done so from a power boat for 30 years. I am intent on adapting my experience to near-shore fishing and recognize the need to share the experience with others for safety and companionship. My name is Marty and my cell phone is; 650-722-1281. I am willing to fish weekdays if the bite is hot!!!

Welcome to the madness Marty  :smt006 Just keep an eye on this section. NCKA'ers are a welcoming bunch  :smt045

*all we can ask as an un-official disclaimer is that you are proficient with your paddling skills - knowing how to self rescue and being properly dressed for immersion. Knowing how to deal with the surf when launching and landing are other important things to learn. Take an intro to kayaking class in any reputable kayak shop or do a guided trip with one of our own = Allen Bushnell aka "scallen". He  does guided trips in the Santa Cruz / Monterey area. If you need his contact info. - let me know and I will send you a personal message.

Good luck and hope to see you on the water soon!

The madness has claimed again, first thing's first and that's safety.  Hope to see you OTW, and welcome.

I don't intend on winning any tourney's, I intend on fishing with the brother's OTW and having a good time while at it... NCKA!

Welcome aboard Marty. Yeah, taking one of those kayak safety class made me
really feel comfortable on the water even after kayaking for over 2 years. I plan on taking another one actually just to play around in the surfzone. Looking forward to fishing with you soon.
