Congrats Don, that is terrific!  I'm so stoked for you!

It's a major accomplishment for Jamel who gave up his last year of his football scholarship at Fresno state to attend the NFL combine and then go undrafted in the NFL draft.

Question though, why couldn't he play his senior year and still participate in the combine?

Thanks Dilbeck, for the comment and the question. In regards to the latter, Jamel could've remained at Fresno & continued his scholarship and senior year. As a matter of fact we his parents, encouraged him to remain, finish his senior year, and obtain his degree. However, it was a personal choice and yearning of his to leave at that time and enter the NFL draft. Being the somewhat selfish and wise parent that i am, i also wanted him to remain there because I wanted him to gain more NCAA stats, improved his NFL stock and play in the senior bowl or Shriners game next year. In hindsight, i am personally relieved that at this juncture, that it worked to his favor.
