A friend of mine just sent me this photo.  It seems to be making the rounds.



Evidently this photo has started much debate on whether it is fake or not.  It was first published in "Africa Geographic"  and appears to be real.  See the link below for a scan of the original article.

I think that pic was scanned from a magazine.  The seam is two different pages.

the photo kinda reminds me of a large mouth bass stalking a topwater lure 

How come there is no wake behind the kayak?

Because predatory fish are attracted to motion. And the kayaker in the picture knows that too.

turn cable tv off for 20 minute and read the scanned article that bsteves posted.

some wacky behavior there. some kind of post-mating behavior, no interest in food
on the sharks near the shore. researcher/kayakers knew that going in.

still. takes some balls.
