I dont want to take away from the salmon inertia but her it goes anyway, went to konocti fri night and got up early sat morning and hit the dock crappie were off the hook and a few ocasional bass hitting crappie jigs, caught like 40 in 2and ahalf hours (good fish taco's).
Side note: On the way home decided to check out outdoor proshop, picked up a new abu rod for salmon and a shimano tr 100 for less than 100 bucks and when I was checking out the clerk told me to go get another rod for a dollar so I did good sale I guess they are haveing good salmon rod deals.

  Where did you launch your kayak to fish the harbor? Was it right there at the dock where you park? And, do you know if they are still restricting non-hotel guests from shorefishing the dock? Thanks.

Where is konocti? My wife is jonesin for some crappie.

I didnt take my kayak just off the dock but the boat ramp would be ideal for launching


Yes its still restricted to hotel guests, But rooms arent that expensive 80 bucks but very good WAF points


Bill its abput 3 hrs from livermore so a little longer for you I think but way worth the drive.

I checked it out last night online. Good WAF potiential with the spa. You can get beachfront cabins as well so just roll out of bed and do some fishing. How long does the good crappie bite last?

Bil the crappie bite has been going for a while and I predict it to remain hot untill the end of april, right when it will pick up and become hot at anderson.
For me the best time is early morning.
  Bill trust me from last weekend the spa rooms are more like little apartments and the WAF does not get any better than that, I cant tell you anymore in fear of getting kicked off the site but its way worth it
