HMB Monday 7/17

First time fishing saltwater... Newbee going to try fishing out of HMB. Will anyone else be in the area? Looking for advice and tips. Also, does everyone put in at the public launch area or is there a better place?

You can launch right behind Half Moon Bay Kayak Company or by the old pier.  If you're targeting rock fish the structure near the green (which is the closest buoy) can can be good.

Don't go out there alone especially by the green buoy.  I've seen some sneaker swells in that area.

Never been there yet.  Heard from others that the surf could be a challenge.

I will head out with you Monday to HMB. What time are you launching?

I hope to be there by 9AM and will launch by the kayak rentals... have a green 11' trident
