Is this legal?

Abalone iron, made in Japan.
One side has a smooth knife edge, the other side is a serrated edge.
The prying edge looks to spec according to ca dfg regulations.
What do you think?
I can see the serrated edge useful for cutting fishing line when swimming through the shallows.

You're setting yourself up for some trouble with the DFG if you use that. Hang that on your wall at home! It's cool, but probably illegal for abs here.

From Regs:

Abalone irons must be less than 36 inches long, straight or with a curve having a radius of not less than 18 inches, and must not be less than 3/4 inch wide nor less than 1/16 inch thick. All edges must be rounded and free of sharp edges.  Knives, screwdrivers and sharp instruments are prohibited.

I would say no because of the sharp edges.

Not legal but pretty gnarly....I dig it. Where'd you get it?
