I hope this wasn't a sudden and unexpected event, and either way I hope also that you and your family are weathering the loss as best you can.

I encourage you to find the half-full part of whatever challenges you, and look for opportunities to honor your Dad.  I lost my Dad, my number one mentor and outdoors buddy and one of the best friends I've ever had, about 4 years ago, and I do miss him.  What resonates though is how he is always with me, as I rely on what he taught me and I anticipate and consider how he would deal with the obstacles and gifts along my path.  I loved my Dad so much, and I always knew he loved me - no one can ever take that.  Be well, Kiel, and carry on your father's legacy by living like he would want you to.
