Made this from a stainless fire extinguisher works awesome for clams and so so for bait shrimp to bulky to take with the yak tho.
basically you shove this sucker in the sand where suspected clam lives close the valve on top and pull when you get it unstuck open the valve and clam falls out, simple as that.

ive never weighed it but if i get the chance i will, the stainless part is not heavy at all very thin, the angle and rod that i used for a handle is heaiver id guesstimate around 5 to 8 pounds, i usually toss a nylon rope around it and cary it to super secret spots and after maybe a mile walking the weight of it never even occured to me. i work for a recycling company so every time i see a extiguiser in the scrap metal i pull it out. reduce reuse then recycle right..lol

pretty cool little gun there, just make sure you can show the dfg that it's not a pneumatic gun because it sure looks like one!

I guess that saves you the hassle of trying to put your finger over the hole like its designed with other clam guns.
