I'm heading to Pt. Arena for the 4th of July weekend and was wondering what my best options would be for nearby launches. I've fished out of Fort Brag and Salt Point but nothing in between. Might try for abs too. Any advice would be great, thank you!

You can launch just south of the pier by the parking lot at Point Arena Cove- where you head from there is up to your skill, desire and the WX. Know the wind usually blows from the north, so heading north early and letting the wind help you back may be preferable to the reverse. Remember at the actual point (by the lighthouse) and north is an MLPA...

3rd of July the City of Point Arena has a street fair and fireworks at the pier, so if you plan on fishing there go early and finish before noon or you may get trapped there until midnight.
If you go to the pier on the 3rd look me up at the Fire Dept food booth

Moat Creek is also an option depending on surf conditions.

Their booth is usually just to the right (north) at the bottom of the pier - they sell fund raiser shirts usually, too - nice ones.
