I want to go catch some crawdads with my kids for fun and food.  I've been googling and calling up organic rice farms to ask permission to catch crawdads but so far haven't contacted anyone that will grant permission.  Anyone have a contact with an organic rice farm that would let us on their paddies to catch a few crawdads?

Thanks in advance,
Nate

I know rice farming is usually chock full of chemicals, pesticides, fertilizers, etc, but I think I saw a study a few years ago that stated very little toxin is found in crayfish tails.

I think something to do with their low fat content.

Not sure if the same is true about the "butter" in their heads.

If you don't have any luck with an organic farm, maybe go to a regular rice field and only eat the tails?

I can check with one of my buddies... I'm not sure if the fields he might have access to are organic though.

If the stuff that makes eating crawdads from non-organic rice farms is in the water wouldn't that mean that it's also in the rice?
