Slayed some fishes out in the big blue with Joe! Big Dogs hid from us despite our efforts to find them in deep caves...

No time to write, but here is a vid!! Looks best in 720p!

Great times with a good friend!!

Awesome video. That looks so fun, I love hunting rock fish in the kelp like that. I need to get a kayak and get out there. Thanks for sharing!

Here are the details....

I have been to this one spot three times now and I like it a lot (cool structure, varied depth, abundant schooling fish), but it is weird cuz I have found more suspended fish than at other spots in the area, but less fish on the ground/in holes....or maybe I just aint found them yet!

 :smt005

Conditions were very nice, and even though the water was murky in close to the shore it opened up to at least 20 foot viz out where we were at...when the sun shone through the kelp it was really, really pretty!  :smt007

Anyway, Joe and I were hoping to push our depth limits and find some bigguns, but his ear started hurting around 30 feet and after I dropped to 41 feet several times my calves started cramping on the kick back up (maybe from diving two days in a row??), so changed game plans and started slaying the suspended blues, olives and kelpies!

Found one DEEP, DARK cave that had rockfish up front and blackness in the back...will be back with fresh legs and lungs to sneak in a little more and see whose hiding back in there!!

 :smt003

The fish harvested on Sunday were all steamed up on Monday in aluminum foil packets (with lemon slices, onions, bell peppers, Tony Chacheres and a little olive oil) on the BBQ for the inlaws!  :smt007 :smt007

Scored some major WAF!!  :smt003

AND Joe stoked me out and gifted us an Ab too!!! Thanks again buddy!!  :smt004

Already looking forward to next time!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

In every episode of Seinfeld there is said to be a superman doll/action figure/statue.  Jerry has a thing for superman and I love looking for them in each episode that I watch.  Similar is the case of Jims movie's.  They all contain three things.  Great Music, Big Jim petting his fish so lovingly just before he puts a knife in their head, and at least one shot of Jim forgetting to turn the safety off and having to rush to get a shot off before the fish swims away.  hahaha I love it Jim.  way to go out there, i cant wait to check that spot out for myself.
See you soon
