I've been using 40-50# braid for main line, 30# flouro leaders, and #1 Gami light wire bait hooks for shiners, sometimes adding a #6 Gami treble stinger.

Instead of a 3-way swivel, I've been using a slido above the swivel on the main line with 2-6 ounce banana weights with bead chains, sometimes adding 8-10# test if I want to increase the dropper length to the weight.

This set-up has worked fine with no problems to date.  I do have some question about the perfection knot that I'll ask in a new thread.
