The most amazing part of that footage is the one they let go. They grab this pup, take it out to open water, toss it about for a bit then gently push it back up on the beach. The pup was pretty freaked out but looked fine.

I was on a spearfishing trip several years ago in La Paz and Dennis Haussler and I jumped in with a pod of 5 Orcas.  He got a little bit of video.  It was absolutely amazing to see them in the water.  They are so beautiful.  There were 7 guys on the boat, but we were the only 2 to jump in. They are really big, but I never felt scared.  They just passed by like we weren't even there.  I was more intimidated by the marlin we were swimming with earlier in the day.  I think they are pretty smart.  I know my buddy Matt Lum had an opportunity to swim with them in La Paz also.

art, I haven't watched in a while, I got the series 'The Trials of Life' on VHS for my two boys,
but I think it was an island in the southern hemisphere off south america somewhere.

patagonia/argentina?

this link shows a shot of the whale on the beach and a pup.

if you type 'david attenborough orca' into google, you'll get some likely links.

pretty sure the footage has re-appeared in other specials but I think it was originally in 'trials of life'.

J.....she needs to be dressed in a seal outfit and dropped off in the middle of a pod of killer whales :smt045

I bet if baby sea lions looked more like ugly ling cods, she wouldn't care so much about them being "flipped in the air......by the inhumane Orcas"  :smt011

There a website called metacafe.com that has a video of an orca launching and landing right on top of a kayaker, also a gws attack and a bunch of others. When you find the site do the search for "humans vrs animals"

It's a pretty cool video, but ultimately fake.

As far as the Orcas killing gray whales, I'd highly reccommend The Blue Planet (Discovery Channel / BBC) series to anyone.  One of them shows a pod of Orcas drowning a baby whale while trying to keep the mom at bay.  Definitely heart-wrenching  :smt009, but solid footage from beginning to end...
