SF bay salmon fishing

Since we got a full salmon season this year, I'm only assuming that the SF bay is open too.(I don't have the regs in front of me) Typically what time of year do the salmon start running passed California City? August?

I think August or September, and those are the hogs.

However, it's more hit and miss there. The fish don't congregate. They just pass through...it might be tough to fish there in a kayak, with currents and ferries to contend with.
Maybe someone else has better info than that...
