Brand new to the site.  I've decided to give up the troubles of motors and boat partners:)  I've been doing some research and watching out for a good used yak.  I saw this one on CL. http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/boa/147078675.html

Take a look and tell me what you think.  I intend to free dive and ocean fish.  I've heard reference to some problems with older 160 models and want to know if this is the newer fixed version.  Also, for a used model the price seems kinda high.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thank you,

Colin

To me that looks like the older model that would be a 160, the 160I is newer.

Yeah that is not a 160i and I didn't think the retail on the 160 was that much, seems a little squirelly to me.

The Tarpon 160i is a fairly popular boat though, nice and fast to long hauls. Make sure you paddle a number of different kayaks to find what works for you. Everyone is a little different. A quick hit list would be:

Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 and 15

Cobra Maraurder and FishnDive

Hobie Odesey and Adventure

Wilderness 160i and 140

Malibu Extreme

I am sure others can add to the list.

Welcome aboard!
