June 11: Aquanfest 2011 - Fishing Skill Derby

On Saturday, June 11th, Aquan Sports (in San Carlos) is having the ‘Aquanfest 2011’ at Parkside Aquatics Park in San Mateo. In addition to having hundreds of kayak, canoes and SUP to Demo, they are also thinking of having a “Fishing Skills Derby”; and based on the number participants, the top prize would be a new kayak.

They are looking to team up with NCKA to help promote and advertise this event. So if you are interested in assisting with the event and/or participating, please reply and then give Aquan (Vince Pao 650-593-6060) a call.

We'll start posting a list of interested participants after we start getting feedback...

Ditto.  If Mooch was involved, the details would have already been worked out.

Vince wanted to get Mooch involved, he was trying to get this started before he left; but all things considered, it was not possible.

Nonetheless, is there anyone else that could provide assistance to him?

Does NCKA have any Ocean Kayak Prostaff that can help Aquan? They are helping out with donations to PIF Paddle...

I talked about this before with Aquan but my main concern was that Rockfish season opens up by then and that most of you would be fishing the coast line. If there is enough interest, then I'd do what I can to help organize it.

I was thinking/wondering the same thing. Maybe it's a competition where you cast weights at targets, see who can tie knots fastest ect. I think I'm working that day, but it's interesting none the less.

I'll be in Texas. Dag nab it. Gonna miss the ARW hali fest too.
