I won't be there all those days, but the fishing promises to be some of the best, if not the best you will ever experience. I going to try and make it friday afternoon and sat morning. It may take a day for the fish to find them, but they will be there gorging. I always seem to miss these plants or hear about them a week later, after the bite is over. DFG released a bunch of salmon and steelhead smolts last week of the Feather. There was over a hundred boats fishing a section of the river and everybody was hooking up! With that, BE CAREFULL, lots of excited P/B can make things nerve racking. Read the article below.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Sorry, I must have missed that! Is discovery park the best launch site? I have never yak'd in a river; only lakes, delta, and big blue. With that kind of current should I use my P15 or my Revo? I incuded a map of the bridge that DFG will off-load the smolts. The first link is sweet and can be used for lots; at least when you don't know what/where someone is talking about.

That's it SH right off I-5.
Not whitewater but a strong flow right now with the run-off.
I'm gonna try sometime midweek after 5pm - look for hook ups.
Imma try the revo, but be ready to paddle quick - i've noticed that it's impossible to turn quick enough to get out of trouble fast from a dead drift. On the river that could be not too good.

I was just there yesterday, the current was pretty strong but was very do-able compared to the Sacramento River current....I paddled out into the Sac and immediately realized that was too much for me.

Thanks for the intel on the river currents. On google maps it looks like you can park and launch, from the shore, next to the bridge they are scheduled to plant under. Is that where you will be launching or is there a better place???

Right at Discovery at Richards blvd exit....it's a super chill launch.....40 yards from car to water.......
There is a guy who has a food boat there...if he is there he has bait also. The food isn't bad either!
