My daughter turned 1 on Friday, and on Sunday I brought back a couple of blacks from the opener (see http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,30592.msg326115.html).

Sunday night, she tried her first fresh California rockie, and LOVED it! The width of her mouth is directly proportional to how much she likes something, and her jaw nearly came unhinged for this!

Looks like I need to make this argument when seeking fishing passes this year.

+1 Very cute daughter..

I have the same excuse almost... LOL  my son had severe eczema skin problem when he was young, but his skin would be soft and itch free, on the weekends we go to monterey beach and play in the shallows.  After that, the wife wanted to go to monterey every weekend.  That is how I got my family kayak!!!

We just tried giving him fish 2months ago, because when he was younger he had a bad reaction to cod.  Now, he loves rock fish, so my wife doesn't stop me from going out on a hookup, as long as I don't lounge around after the dive.... LOL  I am so glad she is meeting me 1/2.  LOL

Awesome.

My daughter won't eat fish yet..she's picky about her food and it drives me NUTS!!!!!  But she's cute so I let her get away with it.  :smt002 :smt004

we've been extremely fortunate so far in that department. I can't recall anything she has ever rejected. Although I suspect she'll go through a stage at some point when she gets a little more finicky.

I hear ya on the cute factor - impossible to get mad when they smile at you!

My oldest boy (4 1/2 yrs) has eczema too, good find on the salt water cure.  If the drive to the coast didn't make him car sick we'd have to make a few more trips over to test that out (and get some quality fishing time in too of course).  Unfortunately my wife doesn't eat seafood, and apparently my boys have picked up on that and refuse to eat it anymore also...sucks for me, no free hall pass!

Every time I fry fish my kid ask if it's a RF.  He too loves the stuff.
