Hello everyone,

First of all this is my first post and I just join NCKA after being in here for 2 weeks and then bought my very first Kayak after all the research in here and thanks a bunch for all the very useful information for newbie like me to get into kayak fishing. I don't know if it was a good deal or not but I bought this Hobie sport with Lowrance x67c fish finder with 12v rechargebal battery, turbo fin, regular fin, side kick, fish bucket, and the wheel for $1,200. I took it out to the lake and everything work and it was my first time using a fish finder and was very happy to see all the fish in the water :). Well if there anything else I should know please feel free to drop me a tip. For now I will only fish local lakes and ponds, not planning to fish the ocean yet because gas is too high for 2-3 hours drive and I don't know anyone or have any friends that fish the ocean, delta, or the bays. below are pictures of my rig....the camera pole is for my Canon60d :)

WTTM! I don't know the answer to your 'origins' of the phrase WTTM question but I do know you are going to get a lot of miles & fun out of your yak.  :thumleft:

Welcome To The Madness (WTTM). I credit Mooch for that one. The phrase is pretty self explanatory. You'll see after a while.  :smt003

Welcome aboard Bruce.  The Hobie Sport was my first Hobie kayak and I love it.  You've got a good deal on it.  See you OTW soon.

Congrats on the steal Bruce, nice yak you have there..  I'm a fan of the safety orange but unfortunately they no longer make them in that color.

Congrats on the yak! I just started last year and am mostly landlocked here in Reddding..for the same reasons... money for gas and time. The NCKA website is addicting... great fish tales... I like the lakes up here...if you are ever up this way ..... Best of luck

Nice looking rig. Looks like it's in great shape too.

Looks like that would be a great boat for flooded wood and trees.

I think you got a great deal. Not to have to pay the sales tax is a big savings by itself. I will start fishing the Delta soon after I get organized. Maybe we can hook up then and I'll show you some of my favorites

You'd have a hard time picking a better neighbor than yakhopper, Consider your self lucky. You'll find him at FW (manager).
