Drove up north on Saturday morning to get some abs and some fish for the family usual Easter feast on fry fish/abs.  I was suppose to meet chaeki but could not wait any longer. Got in the water around 8:30 and swam out to about 200 yards in 25' of water on the south side.  Spent about 2.5 hours just swimming around and enjoying the first dive of the year. Didn't even noticed it until I looked at my watch and it was 11:15. Picked some 8.5" - 9" abs and a decent stringer of rockies/perch to go with it.  Checked by the warden at the parking lot and he told me that he was surprised how long I was in the water. He did not bothered to measure my abs and he told me that he issued quite a few tickets for not filling out ab card. I guessed a lot of people did not read the new rule. The new rule reads, you are suppose to fill out the ab card as soon as you exit the water, the 500 yards rule is gone out the door.  Sorry no pics, too tired to take some pics during and after diving.  Over all, good solo diving and good harvest. Family and friends really enjoyed the fish fried and the abalone.  I smoked some short ribs and on top of that, my father in-law had a bottle of black velvet from Canada that we shared and did some damage on me.

Nice conditions always make the dive so much more enjoyable! Glad to see you put in a lot of time out there. It was a great day to spend a lot of time out there just cruising around. I hate the new tags and was glad I have some NCKA brothers around to have some scissors and zipties. I always seem to forgot the essentials the first dive but I am sure i could have figured out something if needed.

No worries chaeki, there's always another time.  I had some smoke salmon that I brought with me to share with you but I ended up taking care of it myself and brought the rest back home. Glad you and the gang had a great weekend.

Nob IY.  Isnt it amazing how time flies when your in the water.  I love that.  thats cool that the warden was cool with you to.  He probably figured that since you were in the water so long that your legit, which "YOU ARE"  haha.  nice job on the easter slayfest.

Way to get the job done solo, IslandYak!  I can't handle that Black Velvet type damage any more!   :smt005
