Does anybody have any experience with Hobie AMAs?  I think the increased stability would be a nice thing to have when fishing in the ocean but I'm guessing there must be some trade-offs.  I have looked at some alternatives to the Hobie ones, including the thought of making something myself. $159 seems like a lot to pay for a couple small inflatable pontoons, tubing and mounting hardware but fabricating something could easily cost that and more.  There are some with molded pontoons that are much larger than the Hobie ones but the price is about $225.  I'm not sure bigger pontoons are necessarily a better thing.

I would also like to use them with the sail.  The Revo is not the most stable platform for sailing. After seeing the Adventure Island reviews and videos,  I'm thinking my Revo with AMAs and the sail might be the next best thing.

Thanks,
Martin

I don't have experience w/the hobie amas, but did look into them when I was shopping for amas.  I didn't like how the hobie amas were inflatable and I went w/the Spring Creek version instead.  The hobie ones are smaller and easier to transport, but being bigger and rigid is a good thing in this instance (imo).  Plus, you can get the yellow to match the papaya.  Just let me know if you want to give it a try - I have the amas and sail kit.
