so...it is done my old blue PFD is dead- all the elastic ain't elastic anymore, zippers are all busted...time for a new one.

Here's what i need:
pocket for my vhf
pocket for my knife, chapstick

I didn't shop around too much, but I like the new Stohlquist Fisherman PFD I picked up recently - big pockets in front that fold down like trays - totally out of the way of my paddling motion.

X2 has a dedicated radio pocket and a loop for attaching a clip on knife. Two additional "flat" pockets for sun screen, chap-stick, etc. I also keep a whitsle and signal mirror in them. High back and mesh side. Easy to wear all day!
