I originally had plans to go abalone diving but looking at the forecast, I didn't think it was a good idea to go up there with a greenhorn (heesup) friend of mine.  So I pushed that out to tomorrow (sunday) where it drops to 5.9swells, 5kts.  At the last minute, I figured I could take a coworker of mine to snorkel at carmel for the first time.  We met up at 6am, I packed the night before and headed down to stillwater.  Same day as the license to chill event.  Pulled up to the parking lot and dropped off the gear.  BigJim pulls up besides me with his buddy.

We all gear up and hit the water, as we are going pass the shallow, we notice the visibility is stellar!!!!  We tie off to kelp, and I end up assisting my coworker jump in.  I do a couple of dives and was able to bag my first fish for the day.  I come up a couple of times to check up on my friend, he was able to get in the water and snorkel in the 17+ vis, but then starting getting sea sick bad.  That was after the fact, that when we were driving down, I offered him seasick medicine and he declined.  LOLOLOLOL

We headed back to shore after only being in the water for 20-30mins.  I only had one fish on my stringer, but was happy because the visibility was so good.  Came to shore to see Alameda, BaitnBeer, Andy, Dan Silvia (sweet liquid pro camera mask), plus a few others.

All in all it was a good day, going to crash now to get ready to drive up north for abalone diving.   Here is a very very short clip of today, had the greenhorn record some footage.

Heesup, you'll get the hang of it eventually. Still working on my gear Chaeki. Later on, I'll be the greenhorn.
Thanks for the short clip.
I will see ya soon.
Good luck on the abalone hunt.

Danny
Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.

Thanks for the vid, my diving days seem to be less and less each year,  really great to see people still out there harvesting the good stuff.

Chaeki, thanks for the report. Sorry to hear that your buddy got sick early in the outing. I'm glad that ya got to be in the water, hope that next time you'll be in there longer.

Btw, whenever you and Heesup make another trip up north for some abs, lemme know. I'd be happy to join ya both on that trip :D
