Went out with Capt. Ron yesterday to try and get some early salmon while it was still open.  Ocean started out really nice, but turned super windy with monster wind chop by the end of the day.  We picked up one nice little chromer (about 6-8 pounds) on a crippled herring.  We found big balls of bait several times, and had a couple of other missed hits.  Wind blew us off the waterat 1300, so we went to get our pots.  Nothing amazing there either, but we left with 10 decent crabs after about 4 hours of soak time...zillions of shorties.

By the time the gear was in it was blowing 25-30 knots and the wind chop was 4-6 feet.  We were the only boat left out there...never a good sign!  We were getting douched in Rons 21 foot Whaler.  We decided to let Chris take the wheel for the 12 mile run back.  He had a blast pounding the hell out of us on the ride back...great time.

I was wondering if you'd make it out in that wind--shoulda come to the Cove and made me get up early!  Glad you hooked up.   :smt001
