Today saw one of the worst conditions I have ever encountered.  4/1 the visibility was 3-4' and I thought it was bad; today it was 0' vis beyond 10'.  Staying shallow gave me about 6" vis; and it took me one hour to dive enough times to land on top of 3 legal abs.

Weather was good; wife and son were out there with me.  A great family outing!!

I've been there before...there has been days diving where I have had to follow the bull kelp to get to the bottom to find the rocks. Those days the visibility was anywhere form 6" to about a 1'.

Have you calibrated your fingers to be able to tell if the abs' are legal, or were you using sonar to find them?  Persistance paid off I'm glad to see. :smt003

way to hang tough and refuse to be denied.  Hopefully the weather/water conditions continue to clear soon.

Thanks for the report. After enough April 'Rambo' diving sessions I've come to expect crap conditions early in the season when those spring time winds are raging. Hopefully we'll get some FAC here before too long. jim

WTG on the persistance. That's no easy task. I was considering going up there, but figured it wouldn't be worth it, so I saved my tags. Thanks for the report. I'm itching to get up there and pop some abs.
