Aawww man! I know shooting the .22s was fun! I've got an old Marlin. bolt, single-shot. Iron sights and a long barrel, still would have had the 'pops running for their lives. My real sniper is a .22 magnum with a nice scope. No lolipop gets out of there alive.
Nice looking guns you guys were sporting.
I've always wanted a lever .22. Never shot one either. My 30-30s are lever. Fun.
My scoped .177 Feinwerkbau would have kept up too. Talk about cheap to shoot, and still mucho more macho than that damn airsoft...
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I had the most fun with Mooch and gang sharpshooting lollipops out the 75 yards with our scoped rifles and clanking steel plates on the pistol line.

We had some real shooters in the mix.  All did well in our steel plate speed shoot challenge.... even the Mooch shot really well for his first time.

I especially wanna thank:
-- Eric "EWB" for supplying the lollipops, steel plate targets, and other cool targets
-- Lino "tailwalk" for cooking up some delicious chicken curry for lunch
-- EricB for bring the outstanding box of pastries

Those little dum dum lollipops make great reactive targets.  Check out this video starting at the 1:05 mark:

Looks like fun! That really brings back memories. I grew up in Tracy, back in the 80's it was nothing to see a bunch of kids shooting cans on the levees along the aqueduct. I learned to shoot probably within ear shot of that ranch.

That whole town is disgustingly overgrown now and every inch of it is posted. There were 10,000 people and 3 stop lights when we moved there  :smt009 Good to know someone is still out having fun in Tracy. Always hoped to take my kid dove hunting in the orchard where I started. Orchard is gone replaced by a 7,000 square foot home and boutique vineyard.
And you could hear me screaming a mile away as I was headed out for the door....

All this place has is a pile of dead lolly pop sticks and a lonely donkey!

Looks like fun.

I'll have to let you guys shoot my .17HMR. You'll forget all about your .22s....

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...

Lino brought his sweet Savage .17HMR and we all shot it.  I loved it's power and accuracy at longer distances, but it costs about 8X as much to shoot compared to .22LR.  That said, I'd still love to own one someday.

I must say that I've caught the addiction of firing the 22's over the more expensive and louder caliber guns. Thanks again to the Chucke and the crew for introducing me to another form of madness! I say, when the fishing is slow, pick up a .22 and shoot some  :smt045 It's good fun, cheap therapy and another excuse to be hanging with the NCKA'er in the outdoors :smt002

I got the 93R17 BVSS before I customized my 10/22. I love shooting 'em both. They are both accurate... tack drivers. 10/22 shoots sub-1" at 50yds. 17HRM shoots sub-1" at 100yds. Two different animals. Both fun machines.

Long range shooting 200yds and beyond, good day- no wind, hunting squirrels and rabbits = 17HMR
Itchy trigger finger and don't mind burning powder all day = 10/22

17HMR round = 30 cents each
22LR round = 3.6 cents each (bulk)

Mooch:  An army of thumb.

As usual when Mooch is involved it was a fun day of racial-based comedy.

The pic when James, Dustin, and I are all laughing?  Joel was trying to get our attention for the pic and finally hollered "WHITE POWER"...lol

Mooch made a big difference. And he claims getting transformed after blood transfusion. That was hilarious!!!!

The steel-plate shoot made my day. Many thanks to EWB for providing those awesome targets.
