Ah, got you! I'm talking rubber of the truck tire type. My Tacoma 4x4 has very beaten set of 265/70/16. Money is tight and I found a used set that is great for the price. The size is 225/75/16 for the new/used set. My question is, will these work for me? I know liitle about tire sizes is why i ask. The tire shop is closed now too.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

265 is the width of the tire - 70 height/profile- 16 rim size. What is the speed rating on the two tires? The other thing is the width of your rim will be the determining factor.

Deviating the width that much could drastically effect the  handling performance. What is the factor tire spec's and are they  still on the factory rim?

265=10.43 inches wide
225=8.85 inches wide

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

The 225 is a much shorter tire. Abou 1.5 inches. On a good note, you should get a little better milage.

Hey Juan, if you decide to go new, tirerack.com is a good site.  I had my tires shipped to my door for less than I could get them anywhere in town.  Lots of information, comparisons, reviews, etc.

Still have to get em mounted but on that site you can find who does it cheapest.
