So I went out this morning hoping to get a few dives in before this friday.  Im not quite the savage that Big Jim is so I skipped out on last saturday.  So here goes...  I arrived at SWS about 7:45.  Got the dogs out and rent for a run along what little beach there was at high tide.  After 20 or so feet I got tired so I stopped.  Alright it was 15 but I count the cool down period also.  I took my time getting ready and constantly evaluated the water as swellinfo.com said 6-8 ft.  I anchored up behind the rock island and hopped in.  The water was poo brown and Vis was 10 ft at best.  Surgy with low viz meant I was hunting for eels today.  In the process I stumbled across a few olives a black and a 12" greenling.  But just before I was ready to leave I struck Monkey face gold.  As I look over the rocks I see two beady little eyes and a pretty mouth staring back at me.  I dive down to see a closer look and below the little eel is a hog, just asking to be a stuck pig for halloween.  So i said what the hell buddy i got nothing else going for the next five minutes.  I load up the spear dive down, light in the left hand, merchant o death in the right.  I take aim at the larger eel first and let chrome fly.  Direct hit and as I am yanking him out I feel him starting to slip.  That rat bastard got off.  I watched him glide underneath a small ledge, went up for air and descended upon him like the lighting bolts thrown from Zeus' own hand.  Now many of you are probably thinking " Why didnt you just go down and wrastle that eel with your hands and legs like big jim did."  Well here is my answer.  Big Jim is a Big Man and I am completely comfortable with admitting that eel wrangling is just a bit to much man for me.  I would rather just shoot him.  So the eel ended up finding a seam and sneaking a way but I got the last word.  I said "Hey eel, I met your mom at a Brothel one night, she was a nice lady"  I hope that eel is still crying.  Sorry now picks, my lady is out of town and has the camera and shellback sold out and got a job so Im S O L for awhile.  Thanks for reading my Bull sh!t.  This thursday morning im going out if anyone wants to go.  And of course goin out on lingy friday

Dude.  I love your reports.  Have a brew on me and I'll pay you back later.   :smt001

I seriously do love your posts, but I had to point this out:

The water was poo brown and Vis was 10 ft at best.

OMG.  That is the biggest oxymoron in my world, but I know exaclty what you mean for Monterey.   :smt003

Way to get 'em, Darrel! That place is freakin' crawling with eels it seems like! I can only imagine how many more are slithering around in the deep caves that we can't even see or reach.

Awesome Job Hotplate!! - Way to pull through on the kill! You and Rick have really got the eye for locating and consistently killing the rocky camo-dwellers!
