I have two collapsible Promar nets. One broke at the joint and I'm debating whether to send it back or buy another. The EGO S2 looks nice, but I personally dislike nets with too many moving parts - more potential breaking points.

Are there any good sturdy nets out there anyone can recommend?
Thanks,
Andrew

I had two collapsible Promar nets too, and had the same issues ultimately. They just aren't very durable, and sooner or later the folding parts break. I won't be buying any more of them.  :smt011

I just bought an Ego S2, and it seems pretty sturdy, but since it is new I can't comment on the durability. After a year or so of use I should know.

I also have a standard Ego net w/no moving parts. I've had this net for just about a year and a half and it is holding up great. It doesn't fold, so storage isn't great, but it has been a bomber net so far. I'm hoping the sliding version holds up just as well.

Thanks for the info. The only reason I really want a net is to stay legal, but with salmon looming, I'll need an operational net.

I've been using the Ego non slider for a couple of years solid net, I really like the rubber coated nylon you don't hook it like reg nylon

Keep the broken net to stay legal and get a gaff. It's totally legal to gaff salmon as long as you have a net on board.
