It was relatively calm most of the day. Swell is ~4ft at 12 seconds. It seemed manageable.  I wanted to do crabbing for a long time and did not get a chance to hook up with pros like ChuckE.   I decided to go for crabbing in SOLO - a last minute decision.

Today was mostly cloudy. Sun did come out for a hour or so. Temperature was low - around 50F.

I got Pillar point around 11:30 Noon - a late start. When my kayak got wet, it was 12:15PM. I paddled out Jetty and continued going out. I saw boaters, not kayak. When I was ~1/2 mile away from the waterbreaker, I decided to soak traps. The current was strong - which made fishing tough. I waited ~40 minutes and decided to check the first trap. It was empty. Darn!  :smt002  However, the 2nd trap has 2 rock crabs.  :smt001

Wind picked up a bit, so did swell.  :smt012 I moved in to be close to the jetty. I dropped off 2 traps again for luck at the waterbreaker wall. After a hour or so, I picked up traps that had 4 rock crabs. I headed back around 4PM.

I missed Ocean a bit last few months. I got the taste back today.  :smt001. I can't wait until the summer.
