When was the last time you fished Don Pedro - Tullock - Amador  :smt001 ?

A couple years since I've fished DP, never fished Tulloch or Amador.

If my brother-in-law flakes on CL James, you can use my OB.  Not quite a revolution, but it's a rigged kayak.

NCK,

you have been awesome in support my Hobie quest. its a pricing investment for new Yak but I sure i will quickly learn it well worth every dollar.

In deed Sunrise have multiple 2010 Revolutions 15% off orig price available. ask for Phil ( mgr) is extremely helpful and knowledgable- 925 447 8330.

I found my kayak at Adventure sports in Sac Town. Last month they exhibited at Cal Expo- International Sportman Expo- had a number of Hobie Yaks on display/demo. with that said I scored 2011 Outback with turbo fin at $1650 ( new $1799 plus $95 turbo fins) and free shipping to South SF.  since its a demo at show they can NOT sell it as new- I'm assuming there will be some minor scratches from moving. if you are looking for a killer deal on 2011 model ( has multiple 2011 Hobie's that were demo/show follow condition ready to go) call Eric- super cool store owner who help me with my purchase over the phone- 916.565.1400. he is open to wheel and deal...

never the less i am successful  in my quest with the help of my fellow NCK! truly appreciate your quick response, great suggestion and tips- hope to fish with you'll in 2011 season in my new Hobie Outback in Sand Dune color Yak!

thanks again!

Congrats on your new yak!  I thought you wanted a Revo.  What made you change your mind with going with an Outback?

stability, larger work area , higher cockpit and lots of room to customer gadgets... it will be plenty fast with turbo fins. my bro has the revo so that give me choices on which yak to fish from.

cheers
Fish Strong! see you on the water...

Is this worth it?

I'd say its a pretty good deal... there are a couple of things you have to consider. First, is the condition when you inspect it. If its ok for normal wear and tear you'd have to determine if it's acceptable. Then I'd consider if its worth it to pay a few hundred more to get a new/demo version, that still comes with a warranty from the dealer, such as one of the vendors listed earlier in this thread. Also, the one I bought from Fishbear was already outfitted with rod holders and fishfinder, and was a hundred more. Just my two cents, good luck!

I think it's an OK deal but agree with the previous poster that the difference in price for a new or demo may not  be enough to offset the risk of having no warranty.  There's not much that can  really go wrong but the Hobie warranty is pretty good.  Most of the used Hobies that I have seen have a few accessories installed which adds value to the equation.  It's pretty easy to spend at least a couple hundred dollars getting it equipped for fishing.  The Hobie dealers will always offer a discount on accessories when purchased with a new yak.
