Last minute decision to hit Quarry Lakes Sunday morning, 7 am. I'm itching for a round-tailed rainbow. I've never trolled for trout at the Quarry, but I'm hoping the cold temps will open up the action. The more frozen nuts, the merrier.

Wish I could man, but I gotta build GAF. Be sure to post up on how you do. I think I might hit it up later in the week.

Hey - I fish at Quarry quite often - any chance you were in a red kayak mid afternoon?  I saw someone fishing out of one there the other day.  I am new here, but as you may have saw, I will be buying my kayak around March 7th-10th, and am sitting on the fence between the Hobie Outback/Revo and an OK T11/13.  Once I get it, I plan to be at Quarry and surrounding lakes a lot.  Would love a partner sometimes if you are in the area.

Cheers.

There's many of us in the area, so post a hookup if you go to quarry. Btw, if u haven't test paddled the T13, u can borrow mine. I live in san ramon and work in santa clara. See u otw.

No, the red kayak is not me. I captain a yum-yum yellow navigator. I'm sure I'll be seeing you on the water soon. You can't go wrong with the either of the Hobies or the T13. Take care.

Thanks guys and thanks for the offer.

Speaking generally, do you guys have any concerns/reservations about kayaking in our area, Quarry seems sooooo slow for trout.  Is it better from a Kayak - is Quarry a good place to start learning to Yak?

What other bay area lakes are good and would offer consistent fishing?

Thanks.

I don't have any reservations about any of the lakes in our area. Except that have a fee you have to pay for everything! Other than that, a consistent trout bite is a myth if you ask me! Hit the search function and type in Raymac, electric boat, quarry. Raymac's reports will hype you up for sure! That guy is a trout catching machine! See ya not water one of these days!

PWE, if trolling is your thing, then Hobie is your yak. Sure you can troll with any yak, but can you do it while having a sandwich on one hand and a rod on the other? If you prefer to paddle, you can do that in a Hobie too. I have both T13 and a Revo. Took me one year to bite the bullet and get the Hobie. I could've saved some money and gone straight to the Hobie.

Good luck,
ernest

Thanks guys, good input - I will search for that, I find the bite at Quarry pretty tough and started wondering if it was empty of fish, but realized it was likely user error.  I'm not sure which one is more frustrating.  Once season ends, I will also be looking for a good place for Bass fishing, and would welcome company.

See you guys on the water.
