QRAS attachment point

Finally getting serious again about rigging up to fish from the kayak and was looking in to an anchor trolley. Came across the QRAS and it is so stupid simple that it's perfect. I have a clamlock but it's the kind that has a hole to run the line through and also only works in one direction. Looking on the web I saw some that use the zigzag but actually throw a loop around it which got me thinking. Any reason the little round post off the paddle gripper wouldn't work to catch a loop in the release line? I rigged up a length of line to a brass snap and tied a loop in the other end. It will easily catch with the anchor coming off either the bow or stern. Don't know how strong it would be or if there's enough tension to hold it but the posts are already there.
