I just got the new OK cam lock hatch to replace my old hatch.  The old hatch is very hard to open most of the times.

I unscrewed the screws, but the old hatch doesn't come off.  I am assuming that it glued on.

Has anyone done this before?  Is there a certain way to do this?  Or do I just start prying it off?

Its likely got a bead of sealant (goop, marine caulking) to keep it watertight.  You can pry it off but it might be easier if you warm it up with a heat gun or a blow drier first.

When you install the new one it'd be a good idea to lay down another bead of sealant, if the 13 is anything like my 15 lots of water sloshes over the hatch and will wind up in the hull.

It doesn't take much to get the old hatch stuck. A little sand in there and it will get stuck. I've seen it happen on the old rental boats at a kayak shop I used to work for.

Thanks,  I'll try using a hair dryer first.
