A friend of mine was diving this past weekend off Pt. Vicente and posted this video of the squid. 



Very encouraging.  Reports down here are that the colder water this winter is bringing back the smaller squid instead of the humboldts that were being targeted last year about this time.  :smt006

Thanks for sharing this cool video!! When I was down in La Jolla at the beginning of this month, I heard reports of squid being found outside the kelp beds. However, it was difficult to get to em. There were so much Spanish and Pacific macs out there, I couldn't get my sabiki down to the bottom before a mac or three would take it.
