I'm thinking of getting the Golden Poppy Pass this year, since it covers so many of the areas I like to visit, and some I live close by to now that i've moved over the hill.  Seems like a pretty good deal if you ask me, thinking back on all the places we visited in 2010 I wonder how much it would have saved me last year!  :smt004   Doesn't cover all parks of course, and has a block out for certain parks that are more frequented but there are some spots I visit pretty regularly and can surely find reasons to visit the others  :smt044

You can find information on the Golden Poppy Pass here: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1049

I also ran across a pretty good deal on 7 passes to the state parks for 25$  called the Parks Sampler pass.   If you visited Fort Ross 7 times, I believe that would be 100$!  Check it out here: https://secure3.convio.net/cspf/site/Donation2?df_id=1660&1660.donation=form1

Some of the highlights on the list for day use to me are:

Clear Lake SP
Fort Ross SHP
Half Moon Bay SB
Limekiln SP
Manresa SB
New Brighton SB
Pescadero SB
San Luis Reservoir SRA

If you hit each of these places in a year, you've paid for a pass  :smt003
