Not easy to part with this one.
Ive really enjoyed this boat and would like to keep it in the quiver, but I need to make room for other boats that are on the way.

Dang Terry,
Sorry to hear it has to leave the fold-I've always wanted a mini-x, I just have not been able to swing it. I am gonna recount the coffers an see if I can't squeeze it enough.....BBS

Squeezed and gathered all I could - not gonna make it, sorry I can't be the one to take it off your hands and offer it a good home. :(

OK I know you have pics but how does it surf? I have a yak board but I'd like a boat that can do double duty (fish and surf). Oh and I need to sell the yak board

Too bad I don't have the cash. This is the exact setup I'm hoping to get for drifting the Clearwater around Orofino.

Hey Naoaki, its me
and whether your friend buys the boat or not, you are way over due to come over and fish. You know you have a place to stay.
Your post and Als reminded me that one the reasons its tough to let go of this boat is that I wouldnt be part of Team Mini-X anymore.

Im living in the land of the lost. Is Williams too far for you to meet up?

I cant say that its a great surf boat, but I had ALOT more fun on the mini-X  than I ever did when I was paddling the yakboard.
(I always struggled with the yakboard but figured it was operator error.)

The things I enjoy about the mini in the surf are that it has more volume than boats made for surfing, so you dont get that feeling of sitting out there on a frisbee.
Sure, its a barge, but with legs straps, you can make it do want you want.
Its quick off the line and easy to catch waves with.
rock stable, hard chined, and can hold a line when things start to fall apart.
Not really a bottom turn kind of boat, but great for when you are just looking to blast down the face and ride the whitewater the rest of the way in, then charge out for another.

One of the problems surfing in the mini-X is that its a big painful boat that will come crushing down on top of you. even if youre safety 3rd you really want to wear a helmet.
Another issue is that the hatches let in water from getting swamped on your way out. Its not noticable for the first few waves/wipeouts, but then its not long before the boat will start to feel sluggish and youll know it needs to be drained. This is when getting hit by it will really ruin your day.
hope that helps

now the tribute
