I'm not much of a football fan, so I think I'm gonna hit up Mr. Kunz's Honey Hole on Sunday morning.

Tide looks like this:

So I'll be launching out of Buck's. No rain forcasted and the wind doesn't look too bad at - 5-15 knots. I'll be launching between 8:00 and 9:00AM. Company welcome. I should have plenty of ghostshrimp - so I'm not worried about bait shortages due to the derby. (There is a derby going on this week-end isn't there?)

Yep... derby going on... watch your back for crazy, stupid, or intoxicated boaters.

I'd take advantage of the stealth of the kayak and get away from the boaters if they are really running around out there.  The sturgeon will move if there's lots of commotion out there.

Good luck... tide looks pretty good.  Look forward to your report.

I am game. Only problem is that I can't get fresh bait. I am flying to Susanville at O'dark:30 tommorow to pick up my truck and drive it back to Oakland. (Long story) So, I will be on the road and away all Saturday.
I do have some frozen shrimp and eel. Not sure how good that will be.
Any chance you guys could get a few live shrimp for me if you go pumping them?

Fellas - I'm going to go pump shrimp right now. I'll get a little more than usual, so we'll all have some fresh stuff.

Mickfish - if you see this in time I will be at Doran. I have a gold Toyota 4Runner.

I'm back. Got about 3 dozen plump little ghosties in a temporary home in my garage!

I'll be at Buck's no later than 8:30AM...probably closer to 8:00. I don't have a radio, but I'll be in the general "3 mile straight out" vicinity. At least I will be if it doesn't get too hectic out there! Now I gotta go enter the pool.  :smt007

When I pump them I put them in a shallow container with some of the sand/water from where I pumped them from.

I keep them in there over night and bring 'em like that to the launch spot.

Before I launch I put them in a tupperware container lined with shredded newspaper, then dump just a little bit of water over them. They'll last like that just about all day.

Well, I am back. Got to meet and fish with Rock Hopper, gotbaitgofish and Mike (didn't catch your screen name). We paddled out to where Rock Hopper caught his sturgeon and dropped anchor. I got lots of taps. Hooked 3 shaker Stripers. Didn't get any Sturgeon bites that I knew of. It was kind of hard to tell with the wind and waves. With the outgoing tide, we were broadside to the wind and waves. I ran out of bait so I headed back early. The other guys were still at it.

Boy, if you don't know where that channel is at Buck's you sure could get yourself into a mess on the low tide. It was still a mess. When I got to the ramp, there was about 15 feet of that nasty muck between me and the ramp.

Oh well. I got out on the water and that made it a good day.
