i think the new license process is supposed to be cheaper for DFG to operate since the actual license issuance and mailing etc is outsourced to a third party vendor.

hopefully dfg can use the money it receives from license fees towards enforcement rather than administrative stuff.  i did my lifetime license update online, and it was painless. also nice that i can update my height and weight since i'm no longer 5'0 105lbs (not by a long shot) like i was when i was 14 years old when my dad first got my license!

kinda sucks for me having to wait 15 days for my report cards, but its ok since i was not planning to steelhead, salmon or sturgeon fish during that time anyways.

I like the new license system. It makes getting a non resident annual license easy. I used to have to go to the DFG office in San Diego every year to get one. Utah is a backward state and they've had online sales for 10 years. It's about time Cal moved into the modern world..
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........
