Hog Cam 12/23

I arrived late, but just in time to see a nice boar beat cheeks out of the general area after being spooked by noisy hunters. They never even saw it leave, I saw it go uphill and cross the main road, while they kept looking for it.
So it was near here that I decided to put the trailcam out for a night.
Racoons aside, it was two different single pigs. You can tell by the markings on the snout. I think one was a boar.

Nice shots! I am looking to get in to shooting some pigs next year for sure! That pig we ate at the Red Barn Classic had to be the best I've ever ate but then again he was a little pet until dinner that night.

On a recent trip to Phoenix, I ran into these peccaries aka javelina.  Believe it or not, these are not pigs, despite the porcine features.  Apparently just evolutionary cousins.  This troop was pretty tame, could hand feed em.  Didn't see any tusked ones, but they looked like they would tear you up if they had to.  Just bait them in with some bread and POW!  Anyone ever hunt these guys?
