So, went out today for a little crab-n-dab.  Caught 16 jumbo sized keepers, and a few barely-legals plus a few rock crab that were thrown back.  No sanddabs today, but honestly we didn't try very hard...  It was a nice relaxing day with 3 foot swell and almost no wind.  We cooked a couple of the jumbos up for lunch to go with our beer and cigars, awesome.  The bait was far superior to the stuff I usually use.  I chopped up some squid, sardines, and anchovies, and froze them into blocks which went into the bait jars.  Didn't take long to get lots of crab with that stuff!

There were LOTS of NCKA members out there, so guys, FEEL FREE TO POST YOUR REPORTS OF TODAY ON THIS THREAD!!!

Now THATS a big pile of crab!

Nice catch dude. They sure look tasty. Were you on the east side or west side of the jetties? I haven't crab Doran yet but will soon.

New guy here. Been reading a lot of crabbing reports and I'm very eager to join the ranks. Got my kayak rigged already and I'm just waiting for the next hook up. Learned a lot from the information on this site and I truly admire the willingness to help attitude of the members here!

Hey thanks guys!  It was a great trip.  I went with a friend and we split the catch, so only 8 each, but a feast none the less!  We fished between the south J and seal rock, pretty far out there.  The first soak was over night, but I think the pots are leaking catch due to the doors not being weighted.  We only had a 5 keeper average for a 20 hour soak.  Next time should be even better.  Its funny, if you aren't in just the right spot, no crab.  But if you are, quick limits!  Good luck everyone!
