Met Jay  at lake Pinto today.  Weather was grey but nice.  The water quality was very good for Pinto, it was stained but no algae to be seen.

Trout were uncooperative as I trolled all morning with castmasters, nightcrawlers and powerbait.  No love.

By the time I decided that the trout were not gonna happen, the wind came up a bit and it was impossible to do the one thing that I knew would catch fish.....flip the shore cover.

And boy, is there shore cover on this lake!!  It is the ULTIMATE float tube lake.  No structure whatsoever in the lake, just a shallow bowl, 25 feet deep at the deepest, but the shore is all brush and tules.  I met a tuber that had a few (3) fish.

If you like to flip, go to Pinto, seriously.

Next time (later this week) I will flip early when I don't have a fast drift and then go for the trout.

Good to meet  Jay and a good day on the water.

Molbasser --  I've got some time after 9:00am on Wednesday.  How does that sound?  it's a bit late in the day and I can only go until 1:00 or so... but I'd love to give it a try.

good to see you got out there, mol.

deez trout,  :smt011.

I got some time free sunday afternoon, I trolled lexington with half a nite crawler behind a diving plug.

nothing other than three snags to show me that my diving plug gets decently deep.
ferdie the floattuber had two bass, shoreline angler #1, had 2 bass, nobody else had anything.
a very stingy reservoir at the moment.

highlight was the guy that dropped his trolling motor in the water and had to jacques cousteau for it, success!

real nice weather, no wind. some sun.

Sounds good Joel.  I think I might have told someone that I would fish lexington on wednesday... If that is the case, I am going to lexington (and you should too), but if not then yep, let's go!

Met MolBasser (Chris) at Pinto this morning.    Didn't hook any bass or trout.  Thought I had a hit, but was most likely a limb.  Mol, can't do wed, have to work. Every other Sunday or Mondays & Tuesdays I can yak fish. (funky work sched) Did see some good birds thought! Guess it's never a good sign for bassin from a yak when 15 tiny sail boats hit the water huh?

Example of the cover on Pinto.

Mol trolling.
