Hi y'all,

I am new to the kayak fishing world and am wondering if anyone has a Malibu X-Factor they could let me demo for 15 min/ half hour.  I have tried a slew of fishing kayaks and am close to purchasing one.  I bought my wife a Tarpon 140 and she loves it, but its too small for me. But before I make the move to buy the one I have liked so far (Emotion Fisherman) I want to give the X-factor a spin.  The closest dealer to me is in Ukiah (2 hr drive), which would be a beautiful drive but my time is limited the next 2 months. I am in the SF bay area (Hayward).

Thanks!!! :smt003

Sorry guys.  For some reason my username did not register with the above post on the X-Factor.  It's from me.  Bassin21

Thanks!

Sean aka scwafish is the dealer in Ukiah, he is generally on here daily. He might be able to help you with a test drive.

Now if you want to paddle a prowler that would be a different story!!  :smt003

Thanks Bill.  I did get to talk to Sean.  He was super informative and willing to take me out for a test drive.  And I might end up doing that if I cant find anyone closer who has one to try.  I just wont be able to get up there for a while.  Anyone?

while your up there try an extreme as well it might be better in the primary stablity dept Witch is what is nessasary for standing.  I would wory about standing in any kayak thow I would loose my ballance on hookset and would be swimming no matter how stable.  I dont really see an advantage to standing but if you want to do it I think te exteeme and proex are the only games in town.

Trying to do my best here, I just learned I am working in the bay area this Friday.  I will be in at Mare Island at around 1:30, and then Mill Valley at about 3:00...can you be at either place?

Wow!! Thanks Sean.  Are you going to be here Friday and Saturday?    Unfortunately on Friday I am working 730am to 6pm.  But Saturday I am free at those times, or any time. :smt003  :smt003

Hello All,
Another newbie here... Looking at yaks primarily for diving off of and reading up on Kayak fishing I think I might giv it a try... I like the article about crabbing, it's definitely gotten my attention.

Sean I'm here in the American Canyon/Vallejo area... If your going to be at Mare Island this Friday (16 Feb 05) I'ld like to meet you and maybe see what you have... I have 0 kayak experience so I don't want to test them out just maybe have a look/see and chat.... Are you free for lunch?

Sean,
Can't do it.
Thanks for trying.  Please let me know if you are going to be out this way again in the next couple of weeks.  I'm anxious to try this thing and I'm sick of waiting around for the local shop to get their Emotion boats in stock.
