So they open the new ramp but it looks like a long paddle to the bay about 4 mi.
the reports are good for sturgeon in this area right now so I was thinking
of going on wed but a 4 mi paddle don't look good :smt010 or do I need to
paddle all the way to the bay to bag a dino?

if anyone has any info please let me know thanks.

I recall someone saying they saw dinos jumping in the slough itself. Not sure where. I am guessing its deep enough it should be good. I may just give it a shot this week after the big rains we are supposed to get. Have you considered launching from the old Palo Alto Harbor I have fished that quite a bit for leopards and rays.

will do. there are some MASSIVE tides....like 3' - 10' and its not the crack of dawn. Hard part will be bait. I don't think any of the shops down were sell ghosties. Wonder if we can pump some. Otherwise may have to resort to bloodworms. Although I did get one on squid last year.

Eric, try the bait shop on Story road.  Think I saw they had them last time I was there (last year I think).  And, possibly FW in SJ.  Remember seeing some live bait signs on the door.

I saw one catch air in the channel awhile back, so they are in there.  Lotta trailers in the lot when I checked mid-week.

I remember looking at this spot back in March when I was up for a visit at San Jose State. -- Maybe I can throw the hobie on top of the prius and come up to see my daughter during the break --   Here's that old post with some pix from back in March when they were still working on the boat ramp.

Duane

I am doing research down there and using that launch regularly.  It is a long paddle to anything remotely fishable.  The only deepish water in she slough is next to Pond A7's intake pipe.  We've seen some sturgeon jumping but haven't caught any.  The grass shrimp catch has gone way way up in the last month.  And the ramp opens at 8.  If you wanted to launch earlier you could just park outside the gate and wheelie over to the launch.  Lots of duck hunters out there so be safe.
