There might be a few trout in there that Raymac hasn't caught.  I haven't been on the water in over two months and what better way to ease back into things than a nice, lazy, rainy day on the Horseshoe?  Trout: it's what's for dinner.

I'm jonesin to get out but the forecast sucks. Reports are that Del Valle has turned over and some big stripers are in the mix with the trout

Well the rain doesn't bother me...  just need some time otw, with or without fish.

My only worry is will they inspect and pass my yak on the Quagga inspection in the rain?  Results are hit and miss so far, and if it's a miss at Quarry I'll be close enough to grab my crab traps and go to HMB instead.  Or go home and sleep.

I was at Quarry last Sunday for a paddling exercise session.  As I was getting out of the water an aluminum boat was done fishing and loading up. 2 guys had a nice trout stringer, looked like they had limits and total catch easily over 15 pounds.  They were trolling lures all day and used up 2 batteries.

Didn't see much action with the shore anglers.  They are there and biting, go get em!

Probably 10 or 11?  I need my sleep and the fish don't seem to care when it's overcast.

After the time they turned me away, I talked to the supervisor who claims they will not turn folks away just because it's raining, and they will be reasonable about things...  but bottom line it's up to the discretion of the inspector on duty to determine if it's likely rainwater.

The Del Valle inspectors have no issue with rain as long as it's dry inside.

The lady who answered the phone today said as long as it's dry inside...  but then she said I should probably keep the kayak covered til I drive over.

I never can get a simple yes or no from them.
